The kunanyi Sunrise

Shake those dreams from your hair, the series kicks off nice and early as the sun pokes its head above the horizon. If you’ve never experienced sunrise atop the mountain, you’re in for a treat. And don’t be fooled by the modest distance, it’s a beast of a course loaded with technical terrain. You’ll weave through impressive dolerite boulders and alpine heath on the South Wellington plateau, before a steep descent past expansive rock scree and historic ice houses. The return slog to the summit via the iconic Zig Zag Track will have you puffing and panting, perhaps you could catch your breath gazing at the sweeping views over Hobart and beyond.
