Organ Pipes Classic: The OG (Enduro & Sport)
Sunday 4 May
Event Hub: The Springs Old Hotel site, Kunanyi

We’re back for 2025 with a truly classic trail run on some very runnable trails, with the Organ Pipes Classic: The OG. Yes, that means we’re returning to the original anti-clockwise direction of the course, flipping the steep descent and making it even more runnable!
Choose from the 5km (Sport) run, or the Organ Pipes Classic 13km (Enduro). Both courses take you right under Kunanyi’s iconic Organ Pipes. Born in the era of Gondwana, those iconic pillars of dolerite are synonymous with Kunanyi, and a brilliant companion for your run.
There’s plenty of beautiful downhill single trails, mesmerising forests and selfie-worthy views! These are the most accessible runs in our Series and perfect for those new(er) to trail running.
Enduro: You’ll start this 13km heading off on some flat and runnable sections of the Lenah Valley Track with some great views, until you reach the historic huts at Junction Cabin. You’ll take the northern most section of Old Farm Fire Trail, before you then re-join Lenah Valley Track after about 750 metres. There’s more fast runnable downhill, before it’s time for the uphill of Old Hobartians Track. Only those blessed with the genes of a mountain goat will avoid at least some power-walking up the Pinnacle Track. (Remember, the best kept secret of trail running is that you don’t run uphill!). Across Pinnacle Road, you then continue downhill on the beautiful, and very runnable, Organ Pipes track and Pinnacle Track. You’ll likely finish your run gazing left and right in awe – up at the incredible dolerite columns of the Organ Pipes and down to Nipaluna/Hobart and the Derwent River. It truly feels like you’re on top of the world, and you’ll only be brought back to earth when you reach the Event Hub at the Old Hotel site at The Springs.
Sport: This 5km course follows much of the same trails as the longer Enduro, so you’ll also start this run on the runnable Lenah Valley Track and the same great views! The Sport runners then head up Sawmill Track, before enjoying the smooth, runnable Organ Pipes Track and Pinnacle Track, down to the finish line.
Runners who sign up from April 17 (our second-release of 100 entries) will need to park at Halls Saddle & take a COMPLIMENTARY shuttle bus (it’s a condition of your entry). You can select your shuttle bus time when you register to run in Webscorer, but they are on a ‘first come, first served’ basis and times will become unavailable when capacity is reached.

“The Organ Pipes Classic is an all time classic kunanyi mountain race. The course links together some of my favourite trails on the mountain to create an awesome loop. This course links together some of what I consider to be the best trails on the mountain. I would highly recommend this route to anyone visiting Hobart wanting to get a short taste of what the mountain has to offer…This event has left me wanting more short fast stuff. I may end up running all of the other kunanyi trail series events this year. They are too much fun to miss out on!”
